Views from Bell tower
These images were shot from the landing of the Kirk Steeple. The Steeple [or tower] survived the force of the hurricane winds of Ivan, in September 2004. Once made safe and restored, we may once more climb to the top. VERY WINDY up-top: not for the feint hearted!
Further images may be viewd of the gradual restoration work of the Steeple/Tower! All will be dated appropriately.
In 1830, a small group of Scottish residents decided to build a Kirk. A subscription list, headed by the Scottish governor, Major-General Sir James Campbell, raised the required sum, Application was made to government for a suitable site on which to build.
